3DIO BINAURAL MICROPHONE

The 3DIO Free Space Pro II binaural microphone is a high-quality professional binaural microphone comprising DPA 4060 microphone capsules embedded inside two prosthetic ears.  This allows users to capture sound just as we would naturally hear it and enable you to pinpoint the sound location in space.

The Free Space Pro II delivers a very sensitive and natural binaural recording with a full 20 – 20 kHz frequency response.  The extremely low noise floor of the DPA 4060 capsules results in a very open and dynamic binaural realism, especially during very delicate recordings.  This sensitivity, coupled with the wide dynamic range of the microphone capsules, makes the Free Space Pro II ideally suited for professional studio recording and high-end recording binaural capture.  The quiet ‘openness’ of the microphone also makes it ideal for field recording.  Supplied complete with foam cut hard carry case.

3DIO manufacture premium quality 3D audio recording devices that are popular with professional recording engineers as well as amateur enthusiasts.  Binaural recording is the process using microphones shaped like human ears to capture audio in the same way that we hear.  These ears (pinnae) dramatically alter the incoming sound waves, however the human brain understands and interprets these alterations as directional cues.  Furthermore, the time delay between the left and right ear gives us proper directional perception.  When listening to binaural recordings with headphones, a natural three-dimensional sound gives the listener the sensation of being in the space where the audio was recorded.  This makes the 3DIO binaural microphones ideal for applications such as 360 and 180 VR video and any professional recording situation where authentic sound quality is critical.

WIND MUFFS

3Dio Professional Wind Muffs offer the perfect wind protection for the 3DIO FS, FS XLR and FS Pro II Binaural Microphone range.  They feature an elastic opening that you wrap around each ear disk like a ‘shower cap’ making them incredibly quick to install and very secure once in place.

Each 3Dio wind muff contains three layers of wind protection.  The outside of the muff features a ‘deadcat’ fabric layer for a discreet and professional look followed by an internal wind screen that has a custom-designed oval shape that fits over the prosthetic ear of the microphone.  The inner layer is a synthetic fabric that minimises shedding and protects the ears and aluminum disks from scratching.  All three layers are sewn together along with an elastic band that easily fits over the entire ear disk.  3Dio professional wind muffs are designed to handle extremely high wind speeds and have been successfully tested providing wind protection and remained attached to the ears in sustained winds in excess of 90+ mph (145 kph).

GRIP HANDLE

3Dio Grip Handle is perfect for the hand-held operation of any 3Dio microphone and as a handle for a wide range of other equipment.  It is a convenient alternative mounting your 3Dio microphone on to tripod, monopod or mic stand.  It can also act as a mount for the Back-Bone range of modified cameras we offer as well as a more robust handle for Bushman monopods, etc
