In semi-automatic or automatic welding systems the operation and control of the welding head often occurs at a remote control station. Optimal positioning and adjustment of the welding process therefore requires a visual inspection.
The WVS-55 is smallest welding camera solution supplied by SeeSense measuring just 20 x 20 x 18mm. It features a special monochrome (B&W) logarithmic camera sensor which automatically compensates exposure before, during and after the welding process. The camera is purpose designed for monitoring unpulsed TIG and plasma welding processes. N.B. This camera is NOT recommended for use in pulsed welding applications.
The camera is fully automatic with no control unit required. The interchangeable lenses are easy to focus and protected from weld spatter by a special ‘iris cover’ which also helps improve image quality (depth of field). A short cable exits the WVS-55 to a connector attaching to a flexible cable available in increments of up to 50 metres long terminating at a splitter box for power and video.
The WVS-55 camera is ideal for welding in small and tight locations and, as such, sees regular use in specialist applications such as the nuclear and aerospace industry where the welding process could not be monitored. This ultra-wide dynamic range camera is therefore perfect for situations where extreme bright and dark lighting is present such as welding or viewing car numberplates at night.
