How can I correctly locate the position my VR camera when creating a virtual tour?
The Bushman Panoramic Compass Level is a new and innovative product designed to assist and improve VR photography. Firstly there is a compass; this allows you to obtain a reference point when taking multiple images in a VR tour. The second feature is a bubble level which can be used in instances when you require your equipment to be set up in a stable and level position. A knurled section helps you grip the compass level when adjusting it.
If you are creating virtual tours then this is a really useful accessory to own *. The Compass Level also incorporates a 50mm 1/4″Male to Female spacer so it can easily fit below the camera and seen in the nadir. When you are processing the images to create your virtual tour, check the nadir and you can see where the image is located. If you do not require it to be visible simply turn the accessory by 90 degrees.
*This assumes you are using a camera such as Ricoh Theta, Labpano Pilot One or similar.
