GPS Receiver, Mapir Survey3 Advanced

The Advanced GPS/GNSS receiver for the MAPIR Survey3 camera is included as standard with all MAPIR Survey3 cameras supplied by SeeSense.  The receiver is available with a choice 20 and 50cm cable length plus single or dual camera connection.  Spare cables are available from SeeSense as is the MAPIR Standard GPS receiver (see separate listings)

The Advanced GPS receiver provides increased image geolocation (latitude, longitude and altitude location) accuracy thanks to the newer u-blox NEO-M8 module (compared to the u-blox 7 used in the Standard GPS).

It features active circuitry for the ceramic patch antenna, rechargeable backup battery for warm starts and up to 26 second cold starts. The NEO-M8 series provides high sensitivity and minimal acquisition times whilst maintaining low system power.  Sophisticated RF-architecture and interference suppression ensure maximum performance even in GNSS-hostile environments.

Since this GPS receiver does not have a barometer it is still possible for the altitude values to be captured incorrectly, so some post processing may be required.
